Join "Walk on" Ray Smith to hike a proposed PHNST segment in McLean. Echoing the original Cross County Hikes, the events are intended to suggest scenic and historically-significant ways to fill gaps in the better known PHNST trail areas. Highlights include a rarely-visited section of Great Falls National Park along the original (pre-1764) route of Georgetown Pike, and other trail segments not previously hiked. Join “Walk On” Ray Smith June 4 on a highly scenic 7- or 10-mile hike through areas not normally open to the public (see photos). Echoing the original Cross County Hikes, the event is intended to suggest scenic and historically-significant ways to fill gaps in the better known PHNST trail areas. Both options include the remote Accotink Bay Wildlife Refuge.
